Bristol, UK – September 2025 – We’re excited to announce that PICS Telecom has confirmed its Valpak Zero Waste to Landfill Certification for its EMEA headquarters through April 2026. This achievement reinforces our role as a champion of the circular economy and highlights our ongoing contribution to global e-waste reduction efforts.
The confirmation follows a rigorous audit by Valpak Ltd. The audit confirms that 100% of waste materials handled at our Bristol facility are diverted from landfill through reuse, recycling, and energy recovery processes. Between April 2024 and March 2025, the facility processed over 310 tonnes of network-related waste, 87.7% of which was either reused or recycled.
“Our zero to waste program is a testament of our continued progress with our E-waste management at PICS Telecom. We ensure hat our waste tracking process captures key insights and details to show our customers what happens to their equipment when it reaches our facility and beyond. I’m proud of the progress our team has made with more to come”
Matt Kellaway, PICS Telecom Recycling Manager
Key Audit Highlights
- Total Waste Diverted: 310.09 tonnes from April 2024 to March 2025

PICS Telecom applies a comprehensive closed-loop model to telecom infrastructure, managing asset decommissioning, resale, testing, and recycling for hundreds of service providers and network operators worldwide. Each component is scrupulously sorted, tested, and assessed for potential refurbishment and redeployment before recycling is considered – a process that helps prevent over 15,000 tonnes of network e-waste from reaching landfill globally each year.

Continuous Improvement in Focus
This Valpak audit recognized significant operational progress since the previous certification period, including:
- A 51.87-tonne reduction in waste generated YoY
- Increased internal segregation efficiencies resulting in less general waste
- Implementation of UK law-compliant e-waste processing with secure audit trails
- Ongoing development of ESG KPIs to support long-term impact tracking
PICS Telecom currently holds ISO 14001, 9001, 45001, and 27001 certifications and operates under a T11 Exemption Waste Licence. In addition to the Valpak award, we’re also advancing a five-year roadmap to further enhance sustainability performance across all global locations.
